And the winner is...

Michele P.! I must confess I don't know much about Michelle, but she took the time to type a comment, and I pulled her name out of my "hat" so that means she's my winner! ;) Thank you all for entering, I really appreciate it! It's so much fun having a contest like this, I am sure I will be doing it again soon.

I have family visiting for the next couple of days, so I will probably not be posting so much! Here is my newest card that I will be listing for sale today.
I used some really great pattered paper for this one. It's a redish/pinkish paper with brown accents. I stamped the word "wish" and added brown ribbon. Check it out!

Strawberries!

Oh why do I do this? When I am out there picking all those delicious berries, it's so hard to quit! It just doesn't look like there is enough in the basket! And all those beautiful berries just sitting there! So I picked 2 overflowing flats. Is that really too much?!

After searching many of the local grocery stores, I found some Sure Gel and my mother in law, and sister in law made jam all afternoon. We quit when the sugar ran out, and the Sure Gel was gone.

I still have over a half a flat left! Will someone please remind me not to pick to many next year? At least remind me to buy Sure Gel in May?!

I have the morning set aside for making a pie or two. Then off to the freezer goes the rest of the berries!

Please do not forget to leave a comment for the drawing of the card! I will post yet another photo of it so you are reminded! I will be picking a winner soon, and by Monday I will be posting who won! Thanks for participating!

Have a great weekend!

Making of a card, and MocoMarket update

Usually I take out the paper that I want to make a card with, then I find coordinating paper if necessary, and proceed to make a card. And usually I start with the pattered paper, cut out the 5.5" by 4" piece, and then use the solid to accent the card. If you look at most of my cards, that is the way it is!

This time was different. I started with the solid, and used the pattered paper as the accent. And do I ever love how it turned out! Stamping the numbers on was fun too, and I thought the look was pretty neat. Take a look, if you like it, you know where to find it!

Make sure you all leave a comment here for me! I have a lovely card to give away, and so far there are only 5 people in the running! Take a look at the post below, and I will post the photo of the card here again, just a little bit of it though. ;)

Also, sadly, I have to say goodbye to MocoMarket where I was selling my cards. Actually, she is saying goodbye to us all. The owner has decided to call it quits and shut the entire shop down. It apparently wasn't running as smooth as a business should. I'm going to miss it, and the opportunity to sell my cards in an actual store. The extra dollars a month was nice, as was the opportunity to get my name out there. I just hope that I have sold enough to people that they might want to get more from em some day.

Here it is!

This is the card that I am giving away! Today is the big day of my Anniversary, so I thought it would be appropriate to post the card today. Take a look...all you have to do is comment here on my blog and in a week I will be taking all the people who took the time and find a winner!

I used the paper that I photographed for an earlier post, and I love how it turned out. The paper is awesome! Of course it helps that I love orange! Since I was down in my scrap room making this card and a wedding card I needed, I got sucked into making more cards. ;) (It's hard to stay in the house these days when it is so nice outside!) The paper was calling my name I guess! Then the clouds went away, and the photos got taken. Of course the editing of the photos took awhile too, but...I will be listing more fun cards in the next few days! Yay!

Have a great day everyone!

Ramblings, sales, and a give-away...is that too long of a title?!

I have been thinking that I would like to move my blog over to wordpress...such as katelynjane did, however, I'm not sure if I am competent enough for that task! I will continue to take a look at the process, and see if I can handle it. My first initial thoughts were that I really liked the way things were set up over there, but like I said, we'll see. Maybe I could get some needed help from a certain katelyn?!

*******Announcement! *******For the next week I am going to have a sale going on in my shop-
Buy 5 cards, get your choice of the 6th free.

Also, because I am celebrating a huge anniversary coming up...15 years of marriage (gasp- where did the time go?) I am going to have another card give-away! This time I plan on making an anniversary card. Then I will post it here and draw from all the commentors for the winner!

I am feeling pretty good today because, woohoo!!! FINALLY sold that altered tin that has been in my shop for forever! It was the item that everyone liked, and commented on to me. Any time a person would see my shop for the first time, that is the item that (almost always) was the one that they pointed out as being their fav. I guess they will all have to come up with something else now! Yay! It is even more exciting for me because of the fact that this is my first sale in a whole month! Thank you so much!!

More fun...

It's Friday today...I can hardly believe it! Where has the week gone?! I certainly didn't get my house cleaned this week. I think I took it way too easy and spent a lot of time outside!

I am writing today to show you some more awesome papers that I bought just recently! These are from Basic Gray- the paper company that I am in love with! These are the next papers that I plan on making cards with.

Have a great weekend everyone!

It's just craziness

TONSILLITIS???

That's what I have. The Dr. told me yesterday that tonsillitis is usually found in kids from ages 5-15, but they extended the ages to 3-30 just in case. Hello!! Over 30 here...

Doc said I must be young at heart. Haha!

All I know that having this sore throat really hurts and I am ready for the meds to kick in and get rid of it! Besides that point, I am really hungry!

I think my kids secretly like the fact that it hurts me to talk- I didn't tell them to do any work yesterday, I just didn't feel like talking. It's hard to understand me anyway, my throat being to thick. Hopefully today I can get a few things done! I did manage to take a few photos yesterday though, and here is the latest card in my shop.

This card is fun...simple, but the color and pattern is great!

Oh so lovely patterns...

When I was visiting with my family, I went to the best scrapbook store I have ever been to. Almost every time I visit, I have to hit this store! Yay for Pages in Time! Anyway, while there I fell in love with the paper line that SEI has out now...Dill Blossom. The colors are amazing, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on them! (Of course, I shocked my mom again with the amount that I spent there...again! ;)

So now that I am home and things are starting to get back to normal, I got in some time at the scrapbook table.

I'm not sure about other card makers, but when I start I usually have to plan whatsoever for what I am going to make. Usually I just jump right in and see where it takes me! Here is the first of 4 cards that I have made in the Dill Blossom series. I never used the "HB" stamp before, and I am hoping that people will know that it stands for "Happy Birthday." I thought it fit this card. Isn't that super large brad pretty cool?! I couldn't pass them up either!

What's going on here?!

Yesterday I got this phone call:

'This is the nurse from the clinic, and we have your daughter written down to come in today at 1:30.'

I quickly scramble through my date book and then say, "I have the appointment written down for Thursday."

There was a pause, and then an outright laugh from this nurse...'It is Thursday!'

At that moment I cannot believe how crazy I am! What is happening to me! I seriously thought it was Wednesday yesterday, and I am blaming that on the fact that I came home from my vacation on Monday and so that is messing me up.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

The good news is that it's Friday today! ;) Happy Friday to you all!

Lots and lots of birthday cards!

Well, it's official. I finally added a new item to my shop! Anyone looking to buy an altered tin filled with 12 birthday cards? Come check it out! Hasn't the weather been amazingly stormy? Reports of tornado's again last night in Iowa. I don't remember a spring that has been this active. When driving home from MI we saw clouds unlike anything that I have ever seen before. My sister took photos, and when I get them from her, I will post them. The storm that we drove through was unbelievable! I was going 35 on the interstate. We did think about stopping, but with kids in the car, and a long drive ahead, we thought if we kept moving it might be best.

I have to get in the swing of things for the summer yet. What are good rules for how much time each child should spend on the computer? All I know is that my computer time is way down!! ;) (And maybe that's a good thing.) Should I do a chore chart for the kids? Sometimes I think that is more work than it is worth! The kids usually enjoy a reward for the chores that they do though, that is one good thing about it! Maybe I should subscribe to the Family Fun Magazine again...they always have some good ideas for keeping kids active!

I'm Back!

I had a wonderful time! There were 2 graduations I had to hit, then along with that, graduation open houses. Then there were picnics at the beach and the park, that's always fun for the kids...but what's not fun for anyone, was the sunburn that came along with it. ;( I always put sunscreen on, but there were some spots missed. That led to some restless sleep. We are all looking much better now!

Also on the bad and the ugly list was a bike accident that led to stitches, and the mosquito's, oh those lovely mosquito's.

On the flip side...we got to see aunts and uncles, cousins, had a great bridal shower...over all had a great time! A really fun thing we did was hitting 22 houses on the parade of homes in one afternoon!

It's good to be back...I've missed my hubby and my own bed! (Yay for getting to sleep in my own bed again!) I've also missed the computer part of my life, and Etsy, of course! It's a huge "dig out" day today, but hopefully I will get something listed in my shop.

Anyone recognize where I was?!! How about you Jennifer from ancientgamecupboard?!! ;)
