The flu has hit our house. Yikes! So far there are only 2 of us that have it. As the mom, what are the odds that I don't get it?! ;) It looks like I will be loosing a couple of pounds this week.

That being about I show you the newest cool button to arrive on my blog! It's the blue Etsy button! Go ahead! Click on it, see what happens!

Now I am going to promote my Valentines Day cards. As a cardmaker, I thought this was the best way to get some sales- have cards for Valentines! Well, my family doesn't need all the ones that I have left in my shop, so check them out! Maybe I should start on Mothers Day!

Looking for Valentines Day gifts?

I know, I know. I have talked about these cute korker bows before, but I have new photos and I think they turned out really great!

I think these bows would make great Valentines Day gifts for a little girls classmates! Almost all little girls think it's great to have pretties in their hair!

My sister makes these and does a super job with them. The ribbon
is sewn onto the barrette. Take a look at this listing and see for yourself!
sell on Etsy, she would like to start up a custom thing so that the customers can decide what colors they would like together...what colors go with the outfits that their child has. At the moment, she just wants to make sure that these things are desirable!

Let me know what you think! Do you like them? Are they something you might buy in the future? Give a little encouragement! We would really appreciate it!

A Treasury!

Here is a screen shot of the treaury that I was in! Thanks Junction219!

Altered tins

My new favorite thing to do is altering tins! I made a few for my Etsy shop, but most have been custom orders. The one in the picture was a custom order, (which at the time of the photo was not quite finished, but almost!) and now I have 3 more to make!

I think my favorite thing about them is the way they turn out. I love how the mod podge makes the paper look shiny. The ribbons or flowers, or both (!) look fabulous! Check them out in my Etsy shop and see what you think.

They can be used for so much. I have a baby one that is round, someone commented to me that it would be a fun travel case for a baby- pipe, burp rag...and other numerous items that a baby needs! The lunch box tins are great for recipes or cards, although, there are many other uses for them.

Coming soon in my shop will be tins to use for cards, with tabbed inserts all finished for you. I cannot wait to get started on them! I have had one sell so far that was for recipes. Hoping for many more!

Flickr Frenzy

Were you part of the Flickr frenzy on Thursday? Wow! I cannot believe how many new contacts I got there in one day! Over 40! There were 3 different threads talking about Flickr in the Etsy Forums on that day and there were a lot of people checking it out! When someone says, "Flickr...Run Don't Walk" and talks about getting 2 sales because of it, many people will run!

It was a lot of fun though! I have to admit that I found quite a few shops that were new to me! Cute, fun, and beautiful items I found! In fact, there is one seller that benefited adding me as a contact: L & B Accessories ( ) I decided that I liked her stuff so much after seeing them on Flickr, that I went to her shop and gave her a couple of sales!

So, check your Flickr account! I cannot say with certainty that it has helped my shop (although, I did make a sale on Thursday night too...who knows?!) but it might help yours! And if you buy anything from a seller because of their Flickr account- let them know that is where you saw them!

And, of course, check our my Flickr account...the link is on the sidebar!

Friday is here!

Phew! One week down....!

I got a sale last night in my shop! I am happy to report that my mom sold her first item! Yay! I was so excited for her. There is a little girl who is going to be surprised with a package soon. She will be getting the sweater that is pictured below (in an earlier post)

On that note, I am promoting the korker bows today. These bows are so adorable! I have a great idea for moms thinking about Valentines Day. Buy up the bows that I have and let your daughter hand them out to her friends at school! They get too much candy anyway, right? It's something to think about! They are 3.50 for the pair. If you really like them but think a different color would be nice, send me an email in my Etsy shop and I can work with you on that!

Ok, so I am going to promote my Friends' shops again!

Like I was saying the other day, there are a lot of great people behind the shops on Etsy! Here are a few more links that I would like to share with you. These people have helped me through, and really make me love Etsy!

She sells quilts, and I know she does custom orders, cards, and other items

Gorgeous jewelry.

Lots of pillows, towels, and other neat items.

and one more for today...
another jeweler- earrings, cell phone charms, and more

So, give some love- check out these wonderful shops!

Sharing my Shop

I share my Etsy shop with my mom and sister. I make the cards, my mom makes the doll sweaters, and my sister makes the korker bows.

I love to spend the time on Etsy...getting to know people, checking the shop, getting the featured items set, listing...just everything about it! My mom really wouldn't know how to get everything done (note: as I am not that computer savvy, my mother is even less than me!) And my sister doesn't feel like she has the time to put in the hours.

Shops with different items in them are sometimes considered too cluttered. So far, I really like the way it looks! Neither of them has sold anything yet though, and I really hope that changes soon! So, come on over! Do you have any little girls? Any granddaughters? The korkers are really nicely put together, she has made my girls plenty, and they wear them all the time! My girls also have American Girl Dolls with the same beautiful sweaters that you see in my shop!

Is there anyone else out there like me?

Ah yes, I am addicted to Etsy! As soon as I can in the morning, I am at the computer checking for any new sales. Then I spend time at the forums (see last post!) and through out the day I have to just check and see if that sale has come my way! I admit- I have even dreamed about Etsy! There needs to be a 12 step program! Yikes!

I really do have too much other "life" to get to. ;)

Etsy Friends are Awesome!

The best part about Etsy is the forums and the friends that I have made! I know, it is highly unlikely that I will ever meet any of these sellers, but I still call them my friends! These fellow sellers have helped me in slumps- got me excited about Etsy again. Encouraged me, told me that I have to hang in there and the sales will come!

Almost every day I talk to some of these friends on Jujuw's promote and chat. I love this thread! Jujuw starts one almost every morning and evening, and I love it! There are some really great sellers there, meet some newcomers, and each and every one will check out your shop. They take the time out for me! As I do for them. I hope they can call me a friend too.

Here are some of the sellers I really enjoy talking to!

And those are just a few- more to be named later! Take a look at their shops!

I am trying!

Wow. For someone who is so not computer savvy, this is hard! I am learning so much though. I added my Flickr badge, and then my Etsy mini. For me, that's an accomplishment! There are many things I would like to add here, but it is going to take some time on my part.

For now, I will be reading other blogs, see how they do things, and ask a lot of questions. If you have any suggestions for me, please let me know!

Check out my Treasury!

Here is a new treasury that I made up today. Check it out!

The colors of this one is brown, red and teal. I love that color combination!

It's a Whole New Thing!

Here I am, starting something that I never thought I would!

What changed my mind? Well, I like to read blogs, I like to write, and I have been convinced that it would be a good thing through the forums in Etsy.

"Everybody's doing it!" goes! My start. I hope to promote my Etsy shop, along with those Etsy shops that I really think are great! Hope you enjoy!
