The Twins

Since we are building a house this summer, we took an overnight vacation with our family this year. Minneapolis...Twins game! It was a lot of fun for my kids to see the Metrodome, and a pro baseball game! This was the first view of the Dome when we got in. Fantastic sight!
The fun part was that the Twins beat the Indians 11-0!

Yeah for a warm sun!

My hubby and I went to Mexico last week with 2 other couples! What a great time we had! I'm so wishing I was back there, relaxing in the sun. But, it's back to reality for me! I am holding out hope for another time like it someday.

Suntanned, and Glad to be back!

We had a great vacation! We were in South Dakota on the river at a State Park. We fished, tubed, and skied, and got way too much sun! We really did have super nice weather with only one night of rain. The rest of the time the sun was out and it was beautiful.

On the business side of things, I got back the cards that have not sold yet at the MocoMarket in WI that closed up. Out of the 19 that I sent there I sold 12. The thing is (I feel a little bad about saying this) she was charging $4.50 a card! In my opinion, that is way too much. I was told it was going to be closer to $3, so I could get 60% of that. I have to say that Meg is a super nice person, and I always liked working with her. I think what was happening was she was running out of money fast, and trying to keep her head above water. She wasn't that faithful sending out what exactly she sold, I just got the check in the mail.

I just hope that the people that bought my cards from her will take a look at the Etsy site if they want more, and buy directly from me. That part of my business is done with, and I have learned from it.

One other thing that makes me happy...I hit the 400 mark for hearts!! Can you believe it?! I was pretty excited to see that when I got home. It's amazing to me. I remember plainly checking the hearts faithfully when I first started and getting frustrated- was there no one who liked my items? I still do check my hearts quite often, I love seeing them! ;) Just checking today, and it looks like I have another one...401 and counting!

Vacation Time again!

I really shouldn't be here typing at the moment. I mean, where are my priorities?! I have to pack for a vacation but yet here I sit. ;) This is the kind of vacation that requires a lot of work. We are going to be staying in a sleeper cabin for the next week (leaving on Monday!) and so that means getting bedding, towels, pillows, food, and the clothing ready to go. No small feat, that is for sure.

I guess I will just use the excuse that I have to wait for the laundry to get done. And I will type fast.

Did you all have a great holiday (US people anyway?) We had a wonderful time, spending the day first of all at a parade, then with friends with tons of food of course. We saw fireworks on the 3rd.

My newest creation will probably not be in my shop for another week, but I am going to show it to you anyway. I used the same paper as I have before in other cards, just a new look. The color combination is wonderful! The orange paper with flowers is so fun, and it has been a long time favorite.

Have a great week...I will see you all soon!

I'm Back!

I had a wonderful time! There were 2 graduations I had to hit, then along with that, graduation open houses. Then there were picnics at the beach and the park, that's always fun for the kids...but what's not fun for anyone, was the sunburn that came along with it. ;( I always put sunscreen on, but there were some spots missed. That led to some restless sleep. We are all looking much better now!

Also on the bad and the ugly list was a bike accident that led to stitches, and the mosquito's, oh those lovely mosquito's.

On the flip side...we got to see aunts and uncles, cousins, had a great bridal shower...over all had a great time! A really fun thing we did was hitting 22 houses on the parade of homes in one afternoon!

It's good to be back...I've missed my hubby and my own bed! (Yay for getting to sleep in my own bed again!) I've also missed the computer part of my life, and Etsy, of course! It's a huge "dig out" day today, but hopefully I will get something listed in my shop.

Anyone recognize where I was?!! How about you Jennifer from ancientgamecupboard?!! ;)

Vacation?!

Like I'm always told, 'it's not a vacation when you go to visit family'...so whatever you might call it, that's where I am for the next while!

Please take a look at my last post to give your input on my newest item- I would appreciate it!

Have a good week!!

Here it is.....!!!!!

Just thought I'd share with you the latest thing my 2 year old had to say. He was sent to bed this afternoon, and after being told to go back to bed one time, he came out again. So I asked him, "Did you sleep?"

He got this funny look on his face and says, "I did last year."

It's hard to get a "mad" face on and tell him to get back to bed.

And when his dad told him that he should be in bed, he replied, "No. Mom laughed at me."

Apparently, if I laugh, that's a green light for him to stay awake! :)

I am going on a trip to see my family tomorrow! Hubby really doesn't want to go, so he says, "Someone has to stay home and make money to pay for the gas!" I gotta say, it's so much easier to pack in the summer! Yay for flip flops instead of boots, shorts instead of jeans, and t-shirts instead of sweaters, and sweatshirts instead of winter coats!!

I am going to be keeping my shop open, because I will be able to check up on it every day.

And now for my big reveal!! I finally got my newest project finished, and am ready to show it off to the blog world. So all you readers are going to be the first to see, and then I will be listing this item when I return home again. Take a look! Let me know what you think of it...I would love some feedback on this one! (The pictures are really not all that great. Hopefully the sun will shine soon!)

This altered lunch box tin includes 12 birthday cards...3 for boys, 3 for girls, 3 for women, 3 for men. There are tabbed papers inside to keep them separate, and the envelopes are included. NONE of these cards have ever been sold in my shop- these are all new originals!

I will see you soon!

I am on cloud nine today!

And yes, it has a lot to do with the fact that I sold 8 (no that is not a typo!!) of my cards last night! Yay! That is such a good feeling! And then, of course, I gave myself a bonus- bought some earrings from bibelots last night too! Aren't they pretty? And the reason that I am excited is that I bought a Wii today. It has been a run around deal for me since November 15 of last year. I thought I would buy one for my kids for Christmas, but by that time already there has been a major shortage. I have been told a lot of different things by the Walmart employees, and have done a lot of calling to various places of business to see if they had any in yet. Needless to say, my kids didn't get anything for Christmas, except for the second remote to a Wii! (A bit like getting batteries with no toy to put them in! ;) I even had my friends on the look out for me! So today is a good day for my kids also!

And then on to yet another subject! I have family members that are vacationing in a nice warm place this week, so I made them a cute card that they will get when they get home. Isn't it fun?! I just love how it turned out! Look at my Flickr site to see the inside of the card. Day 26! ;)
